The First State Series

 

Our official title is “The First State Excellence in Public Service Series.”  We are funded solely through the financial contributions of individuals and private corporations.  Although we work with the Republican National Committee through various events, we are separate and do not receive financial support from them. 

The founders of the First State Series are representatives from Delaware’s three counties, Elizabeth Roche, Paula Fontello and Kia Evans.  The founders are responsible for creating the series, incorporating the ideas of the national expansion manual, and developing the boards that will govern the series. 

Applicants will be recruited annually to take place in the intensive leadership training.  These applicants make a commitment to run for political office or take a leadership role within the party through various grassroots organizations, appointed leadership positions, and so forth.  An executive board will select the Fellows for each class based upon the review of a written application and interview.
